Except poofters and lezzos…

It would seem that Archbishop Peter Jensen strongly feels we need to move towards more conservative values on a global scale. He has foreseen a strong leadership role for his diocese in helping ‘band together’ conservative Anglican leaders to create unity. Unity against the ordination of gays and lesbians that is; that most pressing of global issues, looming larger than climate change, ozone depletion and all things impoverished.

Because you see, “this is where true unity lies”. Yes my good friend, ‘true unity’ lies in intolerance and prejudice against a minority group because they are different from you. Let’s create ‘true unity’ between an upper-middle class white, heterosexual, anglican brethren, and…well… fuck everyone else.

Because you see, that most tolerant of religions, that shining beacon of humanity and charity has -quite simply- reached the limits of its tolerance of homosexuality.

I quote, “It’s widely agreed that we must make as clear as possible, and amongst as many people as possible, that we’ve reached the limits of toleration when it comes to the teaching of scripture.”

Which leaves me to ask…What’s next?

1) Climate Change – reduce carbon emissions, increased energy efficiency and renewables [tick]

2) Ozone – take CFCs and other ozone depleting substances out of circulation and existence [tick]

3) Poverty – a combination of the free market, free ipods and aid should do the trick [tick]

4) Homosexuality – ummm…prejudice and intolerance will solve the situation??

So bravo to Knobbmeister Jensen; you sir, are something else…
