The lover of home video shows is a special breed of person: one that delights in seeing the pain and misfortune of others, thinly disguised as a riotous and hilarious home video with pathetic voice-over accompaniment. So why not give them what they really want?? Let’s combine the fascination for home video antics with the morbid curiosity that we all share (the same morbid curiosity that sees commuters rubbernecking at the slightest whiff of roadside carnage).

Let’s pilot a show called “Funniest Home Videos: That End in Tragedy“. Mediocrity needs no guise!!! Just think of the possibilities (with pathetic voice overs of course).

“Carpet pythons make the perfect birthday gift…Shame this is a black mamba!!”

“Johnny just loves doing triple backflips off the trampoline…well he used to, because after this he’ll never walk again”…

Just imagine the hilarity and subsequent ratings this show would muster…oh the possibilities…
